HISA does not cover stairlifts or stair glides. Medically necessary stair-glide equipment may instead be furnished through VA Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service when prescribed and authorized, depending on the Veteran's medical need and eligibility. Veterans with certain qualifying service-connected disabilities may also qualify for SAH or SHA disability housing grants for broader home adaptations. Bruno's Elite Curve is their single curved rail platform, available for indoor or outdoor installation, with your specific rail fabricated to order.

What's the difference between the indoor and outdoor Elite Curve?

Both share the same 400 lb capacity and hand-crafted rail approach. The outdoor version (CRE-2110E) adds marine-grade vinyl upholstery, durable powder-coat paint, and a weather-resistant cover, and is tested for 0°F to 125°F. Because of that added exposure, it carries a 5-Year Limited Warranty rather than the indoor model's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

How long does a curved stairlift take to install?

Longer than a straight lift, since the rail is custom-fabricated to your staircase rather than assembled from stock rail sections. After Altamira measures your stairs, expect several weeks of lead time for the rail to be hand-crafted before installation, which typically takes a few hours once the rail arrives.

How much does a curved stairlift cost?

Indoor curved stairlifts generally range from $10,000 to $17,000 installed, while outdoor curved stairlifts generally range from $11,000 to $18,000 installed. Final pricing depends on rail length, the number of turns and landings, selected options, installation requirements, and site conditions. Can a curved stairlift be moved to a different home?

No. Because each rail is custom-fabricated to the exact contours of one staircase, curved stairlifts are not intended for relocation the way a straight stairlift can be.

Does the curved stairlift work during a power outage?

Yes. Both the indoor and outdoor Bruno Elite Curve use rechargeable batteries and can continue operating for multiple trips during a power outage while sufficient battery charge remains. The batteries charge when the stairlift is parked at designated charging points at the top or bottom of the rail, and an optional mid-rail charging point may be added for certain configurations.

Which side of the staircase can the stairlift be mounted on?

The Elite Curve can be mounted on either side of your staircase, and the rail is fabricated to match whichever side works best for your entry and exit points at the top and bottom landings.
