Installation Technician — Pittsburgh, PA

The Installation Technician is responsible for the delivery, assembly, installation, and education of home accessibility equipment including but not limited to stair lifts, patient lifts, vehicle lifts, ramps, and wheelchair lifts.

Full-Time Pittsburgh, PA Western PA, Eastern OH & WV Territory Occasional Overnight Travel

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner in all client interactions
  • Deliver and install home medical equipment to clients in Western PA, Eastern OH, and WV, including mobility and accessibility products, vehicle lifts, stair lifts, and wheelchair lifts, with occasional overnight trips
  • Demonstrate and explain Home Medical Equipment (HME) in the client's home and obtain appropriate documentation
  • Perform service requests as needed, as well as rotational on-call weekend service according to the schedule
  • Provide assistance to the Director of Field Operations as needed
  • Repair delivered equipment in the field and in the warehouse
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Check deliveries received in the warehouse to ensure orders are correct and undamaged
  • Log complaints from patients and facilitate follow up
  • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle and keep it stocked with needed supplies
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization
  • Complete bi-weekly truck inventories and assist with warehouse inventory as needed
  • Participate in training classes, in-services, company committees, and meetings when requested
  • Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies
  • Report any misconduct, suspicious, or unethical activities to the Director of Field Operations
  • Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents in accordance with company policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Field Operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of carpentry/construction skills including light electrical (ability to add or move outlets) preferred
  • 1-2 years installing durable medical equipment (DME) such as stairlifts and auto lifts preferred
  • Mechanical inclination and aptitude in tool use
  • Willing to travel with occasional overnight stays
  • Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record for the past three years

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear
  • Required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
