It attaches to the vehicle's hitch, preserving interior seating and cargo space, and its low profile is designed not to obstruct the driver's rear view. An optional Swing-Away lets the lift pivot aside for cargo access.

Stand near the curb or rear bumper, connect the docking device to your scooter, and the Curb-Sider power-lifts, rotates, and stows the mobility device inside your vehicle. Available in more than one lifting capacity — we confirm which version fits your device.

Platform style · up to 350 lb

Drive a scooter or powerchair onto the platform, press a button, and the Joey retracts it into the cargo area of a minivan, select SUV, or some full-size vans — keeping it dry. A safety barrier keeps the device out of the passenger area if the vehicle stops suddenly, and platform illumination plus a backlit hand control make it easy to use after dark.

For Veterans

VA Funding for a Vehicle Lift

Vehicle equipment is handled through a different VA program than home modifications. HISA is a home-improvement benefit — it does not cover automobile lifts. The program that lists vehicle lifts is Automobile Adaptive Equipment (AAE).

What AAE Covers

VA's Automobile Adaptive Equipment program covers equipment that makes a vehicle usable, and VA lists vehicle lifts among that equipment. The program is for Veterans and Servicemembers with eligible service-connected disabilities.

Who Decides

VBA and VHA determine eligibility. Entitlement to adaptive equipment runs through an approved VA Form 10-1394 provided by VHA, while VA Form 21-4502 comes from VBA. Altamira does not approve, deny, or guarantee any VA benefit.
